CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE

As we continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to share an update on how First Bank is responding and following the suggested guidelines by government agencies and health advisors.  We are well prepared and continue to monitor the situation closely.

Our highest priority continues to be the health and well-being of our employees, customers and communities. We are committed to taking appropriate and necessary steps to help stop the spread of the virus, while continuing to provide you with banking services.

WE CONTINUE TO OFFER FULL BANKING SERVICES

Beginning Thursday, March 19th, we will adjust how we serve customers by limiting access to our lobbies.  Our drive-thru service will continue with no change in hours.  If there is a transaction which requires you to make an in-branch visit, such as accessing a safe deposit box, meeting with a lender or other members of our team, please call to make an appointment for the most efficient access, or come to the door.

If you would like to make an appointment, we ask for your careful consideration when planning an in-person visit, including:

  • Have you recently traveled out of the country?
  • Have you been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19?
  • Do you have a fever, cold or flu symptoms?
  • Are you caring for someone in a high-risk group (anyone over the age of 60 or with underlying health issues)?

ALWAYS ON TECHNOLOGY

We encourage you to take advantage of our convenient digital services including online banking, bill pay, mobile banking, remote deposit, ATMs, and telephone banking services which are available 24-hours a day.

WE STAND STRONG TOGETHER

As we continue to monitor developments, it’s important to know that we are committed to the health and well-being of everyone.  Uncertain times like these showcase the strength and resiliency of our communities and the significant importance of banking local.  Thank you for your continued trust and support.  We truly appreciate your business and look forward to serving you!

Coronavirus Preparedness Plan

PUTTING YOU FIRST

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be in the news, we feel it is important to provide you with an update on our actions and level of preparedness.  While we are not located in any high-risk areas, we continue to take this matter very seriously.  The well-being of our employees, customers and community is our top priority.

YOU CAN COUNT ON US

In the event this illness becomes widespread, First Bank has robust plans in place which are designed to ensure we continue to provide service to our clients and customers.  Our team is proactively taking prudent and common-sense precautions to prevent the spread of illness, including frequent hand washing, cleaning of public areas, work surfaces and equipment.  Additionally, employees are expected to follow health department guidelines, including staying home and seeking medical advice if not feeling well.

CYBERSECURITY

In addition to the public health concerns associated with the Coronavirus, scammers are using the situation to steal your information or to lure you into downloading a computer virus through email – often called a Phishing Attack.  Please be cautious when opening messages and attachments from unknown sources claiming to have information about Coronavirus.

STAY INFORMED

We continue to monitor the public health situation through local, state and national health agencies.   Like you, our primary focus is keeping everyone healthy and safe.  If you have questions about the Coronavirus, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) https://www.cdc.gov, World Health Organization https://www.who.int and Virginia Department of Health (VDH) http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus websites are good sources of information.

BANKING YOUR WAY

We are prepared and stand ready to continue to provide you with the best possible level of service.  As a reminder, First Bank’s online and mobile services are available 24-hours a day at https://www.fbvirginia.com and provide the ability to transfer money, pay bills, deposit checks and much more, all from the convenience of your home or office.
